Control & verification of GREEN SPORT FACILITY

A GREEN SPORT FACILITY are regularly controllered both before and after receiving the label, in order to secure that the facility is living up to its commitments and the criteria. 

GREEN SPORT FACILITY follows the procedure described below to secure that the criteria are upheld as well as progress in the environmental efforts.

Application Process

In order to be awarded the GREEN SPORT FACILITY  an application form and relevant documentation from the applying facility. hereafter, a consultant visits the facility to assist and secure all the mandatory criteria are fulfilled and find /produce the needed documentation. 

Approval by a Jury

When all the requirements are fulfilled and the documentation is in place the application is forwarded the jury for approval. If the jury approves the application the company is awarded the  GREEN SPORT FACILITY .

Visits by a consultant

At the initial meeting the application form is filled out and environmental procedures, goals, activities and information material targeted the particular facility are developed in collaboration with the visiting consultant. 

All GREEN SPORT FACILITY will receive a control visit before being awarded and the approximately one year later. Here on after, the facility is visited every second or third year, to ensure that the requirements are upheld in order for the facility to keep being a GREEN SPORT FACILITY. At these visits advice are given on how to progress the environmental work.

The controls is facilitated by consultants with an in-depth knowledge of the label and the environmental requirements as provide advice and knowledge-sharing for the member facilities. 

The costs of the visits are covered by GREEN SPORT FACILITY, while remaining costs related to advisory, needed investments etc. are covered by the facility itself. 

Ongoing documentation and proof of upholding the requirements 

Beside the control visits, every year the facility must send in information on selected criteria as well as information of how the place can improve.

The label will be taken away if the criteria are not upheld.
